Carefree Northants has donated £1,500 towards Corey Haseley’s appeal for a new road mobility scooter for The Brixworth Country Park at Pitsford Water. Corey, aged 18, has launched a bid to raise £7,500 for a Tramper to help people with disabilities enjoy the reservoir and the park.
The trustees were moved by Corey’s story and his efforts to provide a new Tramper to replace the broken one. Bob Peacock said: “We do a lot of fundraising ourselves and it’s amazing – if you get something, and you can say you have had a substantial donation early, it does trigger other people putting their hands in their pockets as well.”
Corey said: “I’m over the moon, I just can’t thank you enough… It touched my heart, it’s such a generous thing to do.”
Meanwhile, the director of nearby Brixworth Nursery Farm, Rachael Warwick, has announced that they will also donate £1,500 to Corey’s appeal. She said: “We are very fortunate to be able to take advantage of the beautiful country park on our doorstep and believe that it is so important for such an amazing facility to be accessible to all. Corey is such an inspiration… I do hope that our donations will encourage others to contribute to Corey’s commendable efforts.”
