A wonderful message from Harry’s mum after their family holiday in Spain this summer:
“I have been thinking about the charity a lot so am finally emailing instead of just thinking. I attach a couple of pix from our amazing holiday, which you helped make happen and certainly made it extra special.
I wanted to update you all on Harry too. As you know the doctors gave him only three months and that was at least 7 months ago. The cancer is still there and has started to grow again according to the latest scan – and the doctors still say we have limited time. However, Harry is so well you simply can’t tell by looking at him that he is ill in the slightest. His hair has grown back, he is not on any medication at all, not in any pain and all and is loving sixth form.
We haven’t given up. Last week I carried on with my research and found a doctor in Harley Street London who specialises in Harry’s cancer (Cancer of the Unknown Primary, called CUP cancer). Harry’s oncologist has all but given up but I have persuaded this Harley St doctor/ researcher to look at Harry’s case. There may be clinical trials or a lab in the States that can help… it’s a long shot but I wanted you to know where we are at and that Harry is still with us and really really well.
Clare (Harry’s TA) also arranged for Harry to record his four favourite songs at a recording studio. We have ‘sold’ these to friends and family and colleagues and look set to raise around £3000 at least for Cynthia Spencer Hospice. So, Harry – and Polly who has been his sales manager (!) – are rightfully very proud of this.
So, this is simply to say thank you and to tell you that all is wonderful with Harry at the moment.”
